This is the car as I bought it in 2001
1983 Quattro Rally Car |
||
My car is a conversion from a 1983 street urquattro. It was built by Bruno Kreibich of New York City and North American Rally fame. No expense was spared in the preparation of the car and practically all of the mechanicals are original Audisport equipment installed in the same manner by ex-audisport mechanics. Bruno still has his original A2 rallycar which driven at one time by Michelle Mouton. Original A2 and A1 rally cars can fetch anywhere from 75,000 dollars to 150,000 dollars depending upon condition. There are maybe 4 or 5 such ex-works cars in North America. My car is mechanically similar but doesn't have the historic value of the originals; although it was driven by Frank Sprongl to a 2nd place finish at the 2001 Rallye de Quebec. Outwardly its a completely ready Open class SCCA rally car. The engine produces approximately 400 hp and the curb weight is about 2700 lbs. The car is completely street legal and is registered in Texas.
